Dear Youth and Young Adult Leader,
Bishop Marc Trudeau and I are happy to announce we will be leading a World Youth Day 2023 Pilgrimage to Spain and Portugal for 13 days, July 26 to August 7, 2023 (dates pending final confirmation by the Vatican). We are excited to invite you and other Youth and Young Adult Leaders from across the Archdiocese of Los Angeles to join us!
I have had the privilege of leading pilgrimages to World Youth Day since the early 1990s – having been to WYDs in Denver, Paris, Cologne, Sydney, Manila, Rome, Madrid, Krakow, and more!
Bishop Trudeau and I are pleased to be teaming up once again with Catholic Travel Centre, a veteran in organizing World Youth Day journeys. CTC has worked with the Archdiocese of Los Angeles for 25+ years, organizing pilgrimages for Archbishop Gomez and Bishop Trudeau, as well as for numerous parishes, religious orders, and Catholic universities. You can trust we are in good hands with CTC at the helm.
For 2023, we have created a great itinerary that visits Madrid, Avila, and Segovia in Spain, includes the Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima in Portugal, and finishes with WYD in Lisbon. Imagine the highlight of praying and celebrating Mass with Our Holy Father Pope Francis!
We already have secured prime hotel accommodations in the heart of Lisbon for WYD, and so our space is strictly limited to a first-come basis. We are organizing our pilgrimage so leaders like you will travel free when accompanied by 10 paying pilgrims.
In the coming months, we will organize an online information session via Zoom and would encourage you to participate to learn more about our plans for our World Youth Day 2023 pilgrimage. How to Join This Pilgrimage
Join this WYD pilgrimage led by Bishop Marc and Sr. Karen! We’ll be joining smaller groups from parishes throughout the Archdiocese of Los Angeles into a larger collective group that will travel together on pilgrimage.
Space is limited, as we have secured prime hotel accommodations in the heart of Lisbon, convenient to city sites and public transportation. If you are a Youth or Young Adult Leader and want to get on the priority notification list for upcoming meetings and further notices, complete the form below, or email the following information to WYD@GoCatholicTravel.com.

What Your WYD Pilgrimage Includes
Once we have final dates, we will create the package price, which will include:
- Airfare from Los Angeles
- Hotel accommodations in First Class hotels with private bathrooms
- Service of full-time tour manager from arrival in Madrid to departure from Lisbon, coordinating all planned activities
- Transportation by private motor coach up until arrival in Lisbon, after which time we will use the transportation package that comes with the WYD registration
- Entrance fees to sites shown on the itinerary
- Arrangements for private daily group Masses while on pilgrimage
- All local hotel taxes
- WYD Registration will take place separately, and instructions will be provided for how to register for World Youth Day.
